Job Description:

As a member of the health care team responsible for monitoring patients under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team or unit. Promotes a safe, and comfortable environment that fosters the physiological and psychosocial well-being of the patient. The PCA will assist staff under the supervision of the Registered Nurse of patient lifting and patient transfer as requested.Notifies R.N. and/or L.V.N. of relevant changes in the patient's condition including, but not limited to changes in V.S., level of consciousness and/or pain, breathing pattern, drainage, amount of bleeding, mood, or increase and decrease in capabilities / limitations. - Provides ongoing data collection to the R.N. and/or L.V.N. relative to the physiological well-being of the patient. - Shares input from patient and family with the R.N. and/or L.V.N. caring for the patient during formulation or revision of the care plan. - Demonstrates awareness of plan of care for the patient.High school Diploma or equivalent. - Basic Life Support (BLS). - Managing Assaultive Behavior Certificate (MAB). - Recent experience in an acute setting preferred. - -Strong ability to manage numerous tasks and people at the same time is frequently required to perform the essential functions of this job. - Good interpersonal skills. -
