At Silgan Containers, we manufacture metal packaging solutions for some of the most recognized brands in the U.S. Our Accounting team is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage vendor payments, metal and freight reconciliation, and month end close activities. What you'll do:

Process and validate vendor invoices for metal shipments, freight, and outside processing, ensuring accuracy in purchase orders and receipts.
Reconcile accounts payable transactions, resolving invoice discrepancies by collaborating with vendors, Procurement, and Silgan plants.
Coordinate payment approvals with internal stakeholders and ensure timely vendor payments.
Prepare and post journal entries related to freight charges, vendor rebates, and price adjustments.
Manage vendor claims, track outstanding balances, and prepare executive reports on collections.
Facilitate financial audits by maintaining accurate AP documentation and reconciliations.

What you need to have:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
3 or more years accounting experience.
Advanced MS Excel and intermediate skills in MS Office.
Comfortable working with large datasets and ERP systems.
Ability to work in the Woodland Hills, CA office five days a week.
Solid multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities.
Detailed mindset with problem solving skills to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
High level of professionalism and effective communication skills.
